Everyone slept well and enjoyed our first breakfast from the tvan. The camp toaster was a complete fail but I will not resort to cereal… yet, instead I have what Sam calls banana toast. Bread slightly toasted achieved by throwing it directly onto the stove top, the banana comes from the curved grill marks made on the bread.
Our family and William had a quick trip out to Snowdrifts – white sand dunes about 10 min drive from the house. The kids and I did a few thigh burning runs up the hills and there were various types of descent. All this was fueled by Easter eggs.
Farewells said we headed off on the relatively short drive to Mildura. Set up camp and went to explore a bit.
We went to see the Old Mildura Homestead, Lock 11 and the weir. Luckily, we were there when a few boats wanted to go through the lock so we got to see it in action. The boys have decided a houseboat on the Murray is our next holiday. I like their forward planning.
Back to the caravan park, kids had a swim, made friends and played volleyball. First real dinner cooked in the van. Stir fry with noodles – delicious.
Driving music by Indigo Girls – revisiting music we would have listened to on past trips to Patche.
