Day 12 Davyhurst to Hyden

Last nights campsite.Camping middle of nowhere smaller

Up early, ‘Up and Go’ for breakfast and on to Rowles Lagoon last nights destination. Lucky we didn’t push through last night, the name and guide mislead us to thinking a swim might be on the cards. However we were greeted with a dry mud flat and a depth stick. I am sure in other seasons, and not at the end of summer that this would be quite an oasis.
No stopping here for us today. Soon after, only a mere 70 kms we arrived at Coolgardie, the first of the gold rush towns. The grand buildings reflected the wealth of the town however now there is very little here now. Except we had a great brunch – BLTs are my go to order. No fancy pants Melbourne dishes here.
Off to Hyden and Wave Rock. In the car on the way I am typing this blog on the WordPress Ap. bloody fantastic and a great way to while away the time. As we pass through bigger towns I can usually get Internet access to upload them. Just need to get the photos sorted and I may actually get to publishing them in a more timely manner. Apologies but I am on holidays.
Arrived at Wave Rock and set up at super speed. We are getting rather quick at both setting up and packing up. Each boy becoming a ‘pro’ at various jobs. We then went literally out the back of the caravan park to see Wave Rock. Compulsory surfing the wave photos and then a walk around the top.Wave rock smaller
Back for a swim and dinner.
Music today by Talking Heads (inspired by ‘Road to Nowhere’), The Waifs (they are a WA band)
